Across the country, residents have not only endured the typical rigor of residency training but have done so in the midst of a pandemic, a global (rude) awakening surrounding the pervasiveness of racism, and international conflict. We know that giving treats and food does very little in terms of alleviating stress and burnout, and we have a long way to go in making residency training more humane. We offer these tokens of appreciation to let trainees know we are thinking of them during this ridiculously hard time. The least we can do is pay for a meal while we advocate for fewer duty hours, better pay, and more mental health support.

Pictured below are some of the family medicine residents at the Woodwinds Family Medicine Residency Program. Not all heroes wear capes... but these folks sure do. Thank you for all you do!
